Seogyo Cafe Interior Design Inspired by a Forest Lake
A quiet retreat in the city,
inspired by the stillness of a forest lake.
Elevated structures and layered greens
shape a space where light and calm settle.
Task
The spatial structure was intentionally designed to reflect the brand’s identity and narrative. Inspired by the idea of a forest lake, we translated the concept of calm and stillness into a quiet retreat within the city.
Lake Coffee Bar in Seogyo was shaped around the idea of a forest lake, designed as a quiet pause within the city.
The coffee bar and stair table were placed slightly above floor level, creating the impression of floating gently over still water.
The layout guides the visitor’s gaze toward the barista, allowing them to quietly follow the rhythm of coffee being made and feel immersed in the experience at the heart of the space.
서교동 위치한 레이크 커피바는 숲 속 호수를 모티브로 하여 도심 속 쉼을 표현하고자 하였다.
공간의 중심에는 커피바와 스테어 테이블을 한 단 높여 배치하였으며, 이는 마치 호수 위에 떠 있는 구조처럼 보이도록 설계하였다.
특히 바리스타의 동선과 커피가 만들어지는 과정을 바라볼 수 있도록 커피바를 중심으로 시선을 유도하였고, 머무는 이들이 커피의 리듬을 따라 자연스럽게 공간에 몰입할 수 있도록 하였다.
Hunter Green was applied to the walls and stairs to bring visual ease and a sense of stillness, while Majolica Green was used on the ceiling to soften the weight of the structure.
The palette was chosen to shift with the changing light throughout the day, allowing the space to offer distinct moods between day and night.
Details in signage and lighting were carefully adjusted to respond to natural light, letting the space move gently with time.
벽과 계단에는 헌터 그린을 사용해 눈을 편안하게 하고 공간에 안정감을 더하였으며, 천장에는 마조리카 그린을 배치해 자칫 무거울 수 있는 구조적 인상을 부드럽게 상쇄하였다.
같은 색이라도 빛의 각도와 시간대에 따라 다르게 보이도록 조정하여, 낮과 밤의 분위기가 분명히 나뉘도록 하였다.
자연광이 공간에서 차지하는 비율이 크다는 점을 고려해 간판과 조명 디테일도 시간의 흐름에 반응하도록 설계하였다.
