What makes you smile? – Editorial Concept & Photoshoot

Two rockstars meet in a sacred space, their emotions clashing like feedback in an echo chamber. Filtered through stained glass, the light reveals the raw pulse of music and feeling.

Task

We developed the collection concept around two characters and directed the shoot to carry a strong narrative. The emotional tension was staged through a symbolic location the church and orchestrated with cinematic precision. The key visuals were crafted around stained glass, capturing intersecting layers of emotion and light.

This collection begins with a quiet gaze cast upon two rockstars facing each other in a sacred space. Each carries their own identity and emotional weight, and through the role of a performer, they begin to reveal themselves.

Inspired by the raw energy of rock distorted sound, instruments, and voice we imagined how these individuals might confront and express love when placed in a setting as solemn as a church.The stained glass becomes more than a backdrop; it filters emotion, diffuses light, and reveals contrast. This editorial layers internal vulnerability with outward projection, capturing a moment where music and meaning collide.

이번 컬렉션은 한 공간에 마주한 두 명의 락스타를 바라보는 시선에서 출발한다. 각기 다른 삶을 살아온 두 인물이 락스타라는 역할을 통해 자신의 감정을 표현하고, 이를 지켜보는 시선이 중심이 된다.

악기와 목소리, 그리고 탁한 사운드를 통해 감정을 거침없이 쏟아내는 록커의 이미지에서 영감을 받았으며, 그들이 교회라는 성스러운 공간에 놓였을 때 ‘사랑’이라는 감정을 어떻게 말하고 표현할지를 상상하며 촬영을 진행했다.

스테인드글라스를 통과한 빛, 고요한 공간, 그리고 대비되는 감정의 충돌을 통해 이번 화보는 내면의 소리와 외부의 이미지를 겹쳐 놓는다.

The mood of this editorial centers around stained glass a medium of light and distortion. Its fractured surfaces and refracted hues echo the turbulence of the performers’ emotions. Texture becomes language, and visual tension replaces noise.

Even within the stillness of the setting, sound seems to reverberate. The interplay of color, material, and shadow constructs a scene where expression is not loud, but undeniably present.

이번 화보의 시각적 무드는 스테인드글라스를 중심에 두고 설계되었다. 빛이 투과되며 만들어내는 색의 결은 인물의 감정 변화와 겹쳐지고, 불완전하고 투박한 질감은 록이라는 장르의 본질, 즉 감정의 해방과 자기표현의 거칠고도 순수한 본성을 상징한다.

차갑고 정적인 공간 안에서도 사운드는 여전히 진동하며, 빛, 유리, 음색, 시선이 교차하는 순간이 하나의 프레임 안에서 긴장감 있게 구성되었다.
