A design studio is more than just a workspace— it’s where creativity takes shape and where brands articulate their vision. Located in the heart of Jongno, Seoul, KOO is an accessory design studio that embodies this philosophy through a thoughtful spatial approach. Our goal was to create an environment that: - Fosters inspiration for designers - Establishes trust and clarity for visiting clients

A design studio isn’t just a workspace. It’s where ideas take shape, where designers create, and where brands come to life. Nestled in the heart of Jongno, Seoul, KOO is an accessory design studio crafted with these principles in mind. A space like this needs to do more than just function— it should inspire creativity while fostering trust and clarity. To achieve this, we began by defining clear spatial zones for focused work, brand discussions, and relaxation. Each area was carefully structured to maximize both efficiency and creative energy. To shape the studio’s atmosphere, we turned to color and materiality as our primary tools. To subtly distinguish the work area from the corridor, we introduced black carpeting on the left and burgundy on the right— a visual separation without physical barriers. For stability and grounding, we used black and navy tones on the floors and desks, while the studio’s overarching color identity was established through deep burgundy accents.
Lighting played an equally important role, not just in illuminating the space, but in shaping its depth and defining its divisions. Rather than creating stark brightness, the lighting was curated to establish a warm, immersive atmosphere that feels inviting even during long hours of work. Unnecessary ornamentation was kept to a minimum, allowing the space itself to breathe. Instead, we introduced natural elements, placing greenery throughout the studio to lower fatigue and encourage a more fluid thought process. Every material choice—from the walls to the floors— was carefully considered for its interaction with light and contrast, ensuring an environment free from visual strain. This project was more than just an interior design exercise. It was an exploration of how a space can support creative thinking. At KOO, every design ultimately serves people, and with that philosophy in mind, we built a studio where the environment itself is a fully realized design experience.
